Okay, so that’s not really a saying around here. But it might as well be! With so many adventures to do on the mountain after the lifts stop spinning, you’ll start to wonder if you prefer your Evening Encore to your daytime skiing, riding, and sliding-on-snow adventures. We’re sharing our 9 favorite ways to adventure after last chair.
Mountaintop Après
What’s better than unwinding after a day on the mountain with live music, alpenglow, and cheers-ing at 10,700 ft with some frosty beverages and good friends? We can’t think of anything, either! Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night all winter long starting at 4pm, ride the Gondola up to Sunspot (no lift ticket required!) and enjoy some time at the best après spot we could possibly imagine. The views—and the stories you’re sure to swap—will be unforgettable.
Glow Night Tubing
Tubing in the daytime is loads of fun, no doubt—but for a special experience on the hill, Glow Night Tubing will basically send you into orbit. Under colorful lights, you’ll cruise down the tubing hill at warp speed. Link up with your friends to create one large tube chain, or see who can slide to the bottom the fastest! Afterward, warm up in Hill House with some hot cocoa (boozy or regular!).
Glow Night Ice Skating
This is the winter version of your dream skate party, set on our pond in the Village with the Rocky Mountains as your backdrop. Find yourself sliding across the ice under colorful lights and get into a groove with DJ’d music coming from the Gazebo. When you’re all done for the evening, grab a hot cocoa in the Village and snuggle up by one of our outdoor fires to admire your own winter wonderland.
Sunset Snowcat and S’mores Tour
Ready to see the mountain under starry skies—all from inside the comfort of a heated snowcat? Let our experts drive you up to the Mary Jane side of the mountain while you watch the sun set over the behind the Rocky Mountains and see the stars come alive. Hear about the resort’s history, roast marshmallows at Lunch Rock with a warm beverage in hand, and see what it’s like for snowcat drivers to groom the slopes after the lifts close.
Après At Mary Jane
Whether you’re new to Colorado or a longtime skier in the area, there are few things more “Winter Park” that experiencing après the Mary Jane way! Every Saturday from 2-5pm, start your evening early at the Mary Jane base with a DJ spinning tunes, drink and food specials, and catching up with your crew after a day on the slopes. Cheers to that!
Ski & Ride By Headlamp
Not done skiing? We’ve got you covered! After the lifts close, intermediate and advanced skiers and riders can grab a headlamp and join our Ski & Ride Guides to experience the mountain in a whole new way! Enjoy wide open runs for two hours as the sun sets over the Fraser Valley. On the way down, let headlamps (and a sky full of stars) light the way back to the base.
Sunset Snowshoe Tour
If you want a change of pace, experience the quiet beauty of winter woods at twilight with a guide. You’ll experience alpenglow colors and the beautiful starlit Colorado sky to take in the full beauty of the winter night. (Bonus: when you return from the trail, enjoy a complimentary beverage in the lodge to warm up and recount your adventure!)
Moonlit Uphill Tour
Who doesn’t love making the most of the moonlight? And for the uphill skier, our Moonlit Uphill Tours are a unique experience you can try throughout the season! Not only will we will get you set up with all the gear you need to power up the mountain under the light of the moon and stars—but we’ll make sure you get a headlamp for the cruise back down to the base.
