With pet-friendly lodging and activities, there’s no reason to leave your furry family members at home! Here are some ideas for making the most of a trip to Winter Park with your pup.
Where to Stay: The Vintage Hotel
Your pup is in for a warm (and tasty) welcome upon arrival. Grab a treat on your way by the front desk! Then claim their spot on the legendary pet wall. Let the staff at the Vintage hotel take a quick pic of your dog to claim their spot on the famous pet wall. Plus, the Vintage Hotel is a quick ride on the Cabriolet away from the base of Winter Park Resort so your furry friends always stay close.

Planning a spring break getaway? Our Ski, Stay & Save lodging package will save you and the pup some extra bones. Get 25% off lift tickets with lodging. You can hit the slopes while the little guy/girl relaxes in the room.

Pet Pass
Go home with a unique souvenir for both you and your furry friend! Get a pet pass with a donation of your choice. All proceeds go to Grand County Pet Pals, a segment of the Grand County Animal Shelter. Get more information here and don’t forget to submit your pet’s photo digitally via seasonpass@winterparkresort.com and we’ll send your souvenir pass to you. While the pass doesn’t provide lift access, it does benefit local animals in need!
Where to Eat and Drink:
After a day of mountain activities, take advantage of dinner delivery right to your door! We’d recommend ordering Pizza Pedal’r online, so that you can kick back with a slice and your main (furry) squeeze from the comfort of your own digs at the Vintage Hotel.
After polishing off a few slices (ok, many slices), head downtown and cozy up with a local craft beer while your pup makes four-legged friends at Hideaway Brewery. This intimate taproom serves a wide range of rotating brews, all crafted in-house. It’s the ideal stop for the beer enthusiasts in the family. The relaxed atmosphere is perfect for you and your pup to hangout and mingle with the local crowd, plus they have the perfect tented patio for sipping outdoors any time of the year. Still hungry? Stop next door at Fraser Valley Hotdog for another bite. We recommend the classic, Chicago Dog.
Want to check out another dog-friendly spot? Fraser River Beer CO is a quaint brewery. Beer is brewed in small handcrafted batches. They use Colorado grown malt, hops and yeast. Not only do they brew beer, but handcrafted Kombucha is always on tap. The Alpen Glow Amber Ale always hits the spot. Get it while it lasts!
Where to Play:
Your canine sidekick will probably be eager to stretch their legs. Get an early start to the day with an uphill adventure! Before you head up, make sure to read the uphill policy and get your season access armband here. Your armband not only grants you uphill access for the season, but also benefits Grand County Search and Rescue.
Skinning up the mountain before the slopes open is the perfect way to get outside and enjoy a beautiful mountain sunrise. Mary Jane is a great option, as there is convenient parking for accessing the slopes and a friendly tailgate. Check out the uphill trail map here.

Dash through the snow! If skinning isn’t your thing, grab a pair of snowshoes and head for the woods. Snowshoeing is a great activity to get the zoomies out, while enjoying snow covered trees and peaks. We recommend hitting the Fraser River Trail for a mellow walk near the Winter Park base. Southwest passage offers sweeping veiws, and Yankee Doodle makes for a challenging climb through the woods with great lookouts. Want to check out other options? View all of our trail recommendations for snowshoeing and cross country skiing here. With hundreds of miles of trails to explore, you’re in for endless tail-wagging. Snowshoes are available for rental at Adventure Supply & Co at the base of Winter Park Resort.
End your trip by stopping into James and Parry’s for souvenirs you and your pup will love. Find mountain fashion, home decor and our very own Winter Park Avalanche Dog plush animals. Commemorate your trip in style!
With so many places to bring your fur baby, there’s no reason to leave them at home! Treat yourself (and your pup) to a mountain getaway in Winter Park.
