Derailer Sun Deck
Our favorite spot to indulge in a slopeside break is located at the base of Winter Park. Derailer offers a spacious patio where you’ll be able to enjoy fresh sammies or a hearty bowl of chili with your Upslope Mary Jane Ale, all while observing the action on the slopes. Open from 10am-5pm, you can grab a morning coffee between laps, or settle in for après once you’re done for the day. This spot’s particularly awesome for groups that have both skiers and non-skiers, since it’s so close to the slopes but still accessible by foot!
Lunch Rock
Relax and appreciate some of the best views Winter Park has to offer at the top of Mary Jane Territory. With beach chairs, ice-cold beverages, and a tasty noodle bar, the luxurious feeling of this mountain top hangout may make you forget that you’re here to ski, not soak in the Vitamin D. Lunch Rock is perfect for a mid-day ski break, as it’s only accessible via chairlift.
Dotsero Parking Lot
Park, get ready, and tailgate like a local on the Mary Jane side. Only a short walk from Super Gauge, Pony Express, and Iron Horse, this lot has it all when it comes to convenience and fun! You’ll not only find powder hounds of the human variety, but of the canine variety, as well! Bring the portable grill for yourself, and a secret stash of dog treats for all your furry friends. You’re gonna love the incredible views and relaxed atmosphere in this slopeside lot.
Retta’s at Snoasis
For an outdoor hangout literally on the slopes, look no further than Retta’s Bar at Snoasis. With an old-school vibe, great food, 12 beers on draft and specialty drinks, Snoasis is a fantastic place to take a break from shredding and soak up the sunshine. Located between the Explorer and Prospector lifts, Snoasis is a great lunch spot where you can kick back on the outdoor deck and marvel at the surrounding mountain scenery.
Rendezvous Event Center
A favorite among many around the valley, Rendezvous Event Center has a playground, picnic areas, open field, skate park, and Hideaway Park Brewery nearby, all in the heart of downtown of Winter Park. This central park is a great place to spend an afternoon with friends or family! If there’s enough snow, you’ll also find free sleds for public use. This one’s a no-brainer for an easy, casual outdoor meetup!
Club Car
The sidekick to the legendary Mary Jane, Club Car is the place to go to relax in the sun after shredding the mountain’s famous trees and bumps. With abundant outdoor seating steps away from the Super Gauge Lift, Club Car is a great option for springtime après. Watch as skiers and riders tackle the challenging steeps of Outhouse while sipping Club Car’s infamous bloody marys or a cold beer. If you’re hungry, try the Pesto Chicken Sandwich for a delicious and hearty meal. With fantastic views of Parry Peak, delicious gourmet food and a chill atmosphere, you’ll want to come back to Club Car time and again.
