End of Ski Season To-Do List

Whether you hit your 30-day goal, 50-day goal, or broke triple digits banking days skiing/snowboarding this winter, you know saying goodbye is never easy.

With the temps rising and sun shining, it still seems like just yesterday we were reawakening our skis, parading around the house in new snowboard boots under the guise of breaking them in, and shoving every trail map we could find into the freezer, channeling your inner Lorelai Gilmore praying for ever the smallest of snowflake to fall from the sky.

But that time has passed.
Good thing the last few weeks of spring skiing offer us some closure to the past few months we’ve been in this on again off again, complicated relationship with the flighty temptress, Winter.  If you’re looking to start winding down the season and go out with a bang, check out our End of Season To-Do List!

1. Monster Energy® Spring Splash®

Normally getting soaked on the mountain is just asking for a bad day (*cough* *cough* wearing cotton), but Spring Splash is a little different. This pond skimming, animal floaty dodging, obstacle course racing event is the day your secret inner beach goer/mermaid fly free-LITERALLY. (Which we mean in the correct sense of the word, not in the overused substitute for metaphorically that all the kewl kids are saying these days). And if you aren’t so into the whole ride across the pond gig, you can come watch Cowboys, Superheros, and all the other goofy getups attempt the infamous buoyancy test.

2. Bust a Move

Typically we ask folks to bust out snow dances, but come April, we want you to just shake your groove thang because of all the musical fun we are having on the mountain. April is filled with concerts around WPR.

April 22, the Springtopia finale concert will feature Michael Franti and Spearhead. The VIP tickets have sold out, but you can still join us in the FREE general admission crowd. Music starts at 12:30 with acts including: Hunker Down, The Rick Lewis Project, and then then Michael Frant and Spearhead as headliners to top off the night. Come ready to get down, rock out, and party hard. And don’t worry about a place to crash after, we have 15% off lodging all weekend!

And if you are here on Friday, April 21st you can get a $4 New Belgium® at Derailer, while enjoying Gary Key as part of New Belgium®’s Fat Fridays and then bring the whole family to make your own music at our Drum Circle.

3. Party at the Jane

In case you haven’t heard, Mary Jane’s season got extended to April 30th! Bonus, if you watched our video, you also learned how we make REALLY important decisions around here. Anyone who knows MJ, knows that this Territory is the Queen of going out with style, so add her Farewell to 2017 Party to your list of MUST-DOs before you put away your board for the season. The fun starts Saturday at Club Car with live tunes from 12pm – 4pm, food and drink specials, and giveaways.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL…

We also have $59 advance purchase lift tickets for the entire extension week and final weekend, with rooms $99/night available for booking too!

4. Get your Party On

Spring skiing gives way to many a creative costume on the mountain. Join in on the fun with a pattern onesie, some throwback neon gear, or whatever get-up tickles your fancy. We’d love to see an influx in dinosaurs, bananas, and sharks riding the mountain in style.

5. Buy A Pass for Next Year

Although next season seems so far away, now is the BEST time to buy next year’s pass. The earlier you buy, the more money you can save, so get yours on the cheap for next season!  PLUS Kids Ski Free is back. Get one free kids 12 and under pass with the purchase of an adult RMSP+, Winter Park Resort Season Pass, or a Route 40 Pass. And now getting your ski pass will feel even more like Christmas!  Put your pass on layaway with our NEW 6 month payment plan! With just $49 down, and 6 easy payments Nov – June, getting your pass just got easier!

6. Take Care of Your Gear

Your gear has been with you through thick and thin this winter! It has navigated your powder turns, steered through tree runs, plunged into freshies on early morning  bowl drop-ins and cut through icy afternoon trails shaded by the pines, all without any complaint. But now it is time to give your gear some TLC. Make sure your edges are sharp, your wax is thick, and everything is ready for summer hibernation before you tuck it away. And maybe throw in a bed time story for good measure, we won’t judge.

7. Two Sports, One Day

If Colorado was a superhero, it would probably have some rad superpowers- one of them being able to have all 4 seasons happen in one day. But why dwell in hypotheticals when that is just a typical Colorado Spring? If you’re jonesing for Bike Season, but not ready to stop shredding in the snow, we have a solution!

Spend a morning riding with us on snow, and then hit the front range on a mountain bike! It won’t be long until Trestle Bike Park takes over for the summer, but until then enjoy that sweet, sweet duality of spring sports.
