Snow is falling, lights are twinkling, and here in Winter Park we’re getting ready for Deck the Slopes, where the holiday spirit meets alpine adventure. From November 30 to December 31, the resort and Town will transform into a winter wonderland with sparkling lights, festive cheer, and unforgettable weekend activities for the whole family. Take a look at our activity guide and get ready to spread some cheer in the Rocky Mountains this season.
Holiday Tree Lighting – Nov 30
Come kick off the holiday season with us at our Holiday Tree Lighting. Enjoy some hot cocoa, sing along to holiday classics performed by the Beverly Bells, and watch as our tree illuminates the Village. (Keep your eyes peeled for Santa – we hear he’ll be there.) After the event, stop by any evening during the season to snap festive photos with the tree. The holidays begin now!
Pro Tip: Some of the best things to do at Winter Park happen after the lifts stop spinning. At 4pm, swap out your ski boots for snow boots and step out for a full night of fun from live music on the mountain to Glow Night Ice Skating and more. Find your Evening Encore.
Reindeer & Holiday Drone Show – Dec 7 & 21
Ever met Santa’s reindeer? For 2 weekends, you can visit with a few of these fuzzy friends in the Village between ski laps. After the sun sets, stick around for a magical holiday drone show at the base. (Pro Tip: Visit the Derailer or Doc’s deck for the best view!)
Holiday Drone Show & Winter Wonderland – Dec 14
It’s a Winter (Park) Wonderland! Join us in the Village throughout the day for s’mores, photos with Santa, ornament decorating, and more to get in the holiday spirit – then head over to Goody’s for a delicious cup of cocoa and check a few people off your gift list at James and Parry’s. Afterward, wrap up your day with a special festive drone show above the mountain.
Pro Tip: A few tubing hill laps can really put a cherry on top of a holiday weekend in the mountains! Make sure to save your spot for day or evening tubing before coming up to visit, as reservations can fill up.
Torchlight Parade – Dec 24
Our iconic annual holiday celebration is back, and you’re invited! Bring your family and join our community for holiday music and hot cocoa around a bonfire at the base – then watch as over 100 skiers make their way down the slopes – illuminating the night with flares and a fireworks show.
New Year’s Eve Celebration – Dec 31
We love après any old time, but it feels extra special on New Year’s Eve. Close out the year with a day on the slopes, and then head into the Village for a warm meal and a toast to 2024. Try the sprightly cocktails at Derailer, local beers from Colorado Pours, or grab a seat at Doc’s for some comfort food and whiskey flights. If you’re still feeling festive, join us in town! the Rendezvous Event Center, in downtown Winter Park, will host sledders and tubers, and a Silent Disco by Big Little Sound.
