Snow Report November 23

Welcome back! We’ve now been open for 10 days and we’ve got a ton to share with you. This past week has brought us gorgeous bluebird days, some exciting new openings, and loads of excitement. With almost 1 ½ FEET of snow coming our way, and the Holiday Market and Tree Lighting Ceremony on the calendar, this long weekend is going to be one for the books!

With everyone’s favorite territory, Mary Jane, open as of 8:30am Thursday, this truly has been an opening week of monumental stoke-portions. Whether it’s charging hard or shopping for those unique holiday gifts on your to-do list, this weekend at Winter Park will help you check all of the boxes.

The outstanding November conditions have allowed our snowpack to sit pretty at 137% compared to our 30-year average. The 47 inches of cumulative snowfall, and a consistent 18” base, have created a fantastic foundation on which to build for this season. Things are looking promising with an amazing forecast and awesome conditions expected for this weekend.

The snowfall last night was just enough to sink those skis into, but we’re hoping to have a whole lot more by the time the weekend is over. Predictions right now estimate more than 12 inches accruing over Saturday and into Sunday morning, so stick around for some true powder turns to conclude the holiday weekend. Fresh powder days in November, what more can you ask for?

Where to Ride:

Mary Jane opens on Thanksgiving

Mary Jane, Mary Jane, Mary Jane. Few things pair together better than fresh snow and the Mary Jane territory. “Janesgiving” allowed us to more than double our skiable acreage and the new trails are in prime shape for some holiday-weekend turns. New chairs that will be spinning include Super Gauge Express, Pony Express, and Iron Horse. The High Lonesome Express lift will also be running this weekend, perfect for accessing some mellow greens and cruisy corduroy.

As the snow keeps falling the acreage will keep growing so keep spinning laps to get those legs in shape, more challenging terrain will be open to shred before you know it!

Event Updates:

Grand Holiday Market

This weekend is a big one here at Winter Park. Dig up that scratchy old holiday sweater, play your favorite holiday tunes, and join us for the Grand Holiday Market this weekend. Nothing beats conquering your holiday shopping early, and what better way to do it than after a day of skiing. Want more good news? You’ll be supporting local artists all while enjoying the festive feel of our newly remodeled Village. Vendors will be set up in the Village from 12-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to the Grand Holiday Market, this weekend will also feature the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony – a true holiday classic. Come out and enjoy some hot cider and warm up by the new fire pit as you and your family enjoy the magical tradition of illuminating the Village tree. The ceremony will tentatively begin at 5:15pm on Saturday evening.

A Thanksgiving weekend featuring iconic skiing and holiday tradition – sounds like one you won’t want to miss!
