Snow Report March 7

Only one week into the third month of the year and we’ve seen 40 inches come our way! March is one of our favorite months for that snowy reason but we weren’t dreaming of it being just this good! As the temperatures start to slowly warm and the snow continues to fall, we couldn’t be more excited for spring here at Winter Park. With exceptional skiing and a calendar full of fun, this month will be one to remember!

**Resort news: the Jane will remain open until May 12th!**

Snow:

The numbers for this month are impressive: 40” in the past 7 days and 10.5” alone falling on Wednesday night. Setting us up for another weekend of deep turns, the forecast continues to be on our side. While Thursday has been another perfect pow day, there’re refills coming just in time for the weekend. Current models show 8” on the ground by Saturday afternoon, while the possibility exists for more if the conditions align.

Saturday’s snow will be fluffy and light as temperatures will begin to drop again later in the day Friday. We’re in for another few days of fresh, and deep, Colorado pow so wax your powder tools and keep those snorkels on hand!

Ski:

New snow means more fun and with 2,905 acres to explore there’s heavenly skiing out there for every rider. When it snows this much the last thing you want to have to worry about is where to ski – check out some of our favorite powder picks for big snow-days so you can head straight to the good stuff this weekend:

Winter Park:

  • Engeldive/Tweedle Dum: Fun bumps both accessed by quick chair rides on either the Prospector or Looking Glass chairs.

Vasquez Ridge:

  • Stagecoach trees: Small pillow drops, flowy lines through trees, and the option to traverse to the Eagle Wind chair instead of a ski down to the Pioneer lift.

Parsenn Bowl:

  • Larkspur/Sky Pilot/Fireberry Glades: Snow really stacks up in Parsenn Bowl and these runs are some of our favorites for getting in deep!

Mary Jane:

  • Freeriders/Sleeper/Phantom Bridge: All accessed by the Challenger chair, these are some of Mary Jane’s most beloved runs and on a deep pow-day you’ll come to find out why!

The countdown to spring has officially begun and this month kicks off the famed Spring Bash and Splash series, with the first of four weekends bringing this month to a close. With everything from the famous Uphill Battle to TheBigWonderful Beerfest, spring will be in full swing and there’s no better place to celebrate than with us out on the slopes!
