Like hot cocoa and marshmallows, sun and snow is a combo best enjoyed in the mountains. With both rays and flakes expected over the next few days, get ready to experience it all at Winter Park! We’re headed into another weekend with exciting things on the calendar and a snowy forecast to boot – we want you to be ready for fun!
5 inches in the past week has helped soften things up for us, and with up to 8 more inches slated to fall tonight through Friday we’re hoping for a soft and sunny weekend! Make sure to bring the shades and sunscreen on Saturday and Sunday as things are looking bright and blue.
Temperatures this weekend will be perfect for spending the day on the mountain. Sun and 20 degrees means ideal weekend weather, and with a fresh layer on the ground we’ve got a feeling that conditions will be hard to beat.
Where to Ride:
Trees, groomers, bumps, terrain parks. The list goes on. Regardless of your style, this weekend will be a good time to get out! This week’s snow paired with the incoming flakes should mean tremendous skiing all over the mountain. If trees are your setting of choice then check out the Eagle Wind territory for your fill of steep glades. Looking for a workout? Get over to the Jane to get bumpin’. Runs accessed by the Challenger lift will be shreddable as ever. Cruisy blues and easy-riding greens will be a blast to carve and slash – no matter your skill it’ll all be a thrill!
Want to learn a board slide? What about a cork 720? The Terrain Park territory is the perfect place to progress your riding and elevate your bag of tricks. From the small rails and shorter boxes of the Starter Park and Ash Cat, to the intermediate jumps and rails of Re-Railer and the Rail Yard, there’s a park and a feature for every level of rider. Once you’re ready for the large features of Dark Territory, stop into Showcase board shop to pick up an access-granting waiver.
After the Shred:
Love deep snow? Want to get dropped off via helicopter atop a breathtaking line? Well this weekend is your chance to do so – virtually! Join CMH Helicopter Tours for a virtual reality experience sure to leave you in awe. Who knows, maybe you’ll end up booking a trip to do the real thing! Stop by Alpine & Ales, the mobile bar stationed next to CMH this weekend, for a delicious beer as you wait to drop in.
The après options are endless with weather this good. Soak in the beauty of the mountains from the view of a sunset Gondola ride up to Sunspot Mountaintop Lodge. You’ll find live music and delicious brews waiting! Sunspot is also the best dinner experience in town so be sure to look at a menu while you’re up there.
