Welcome to the Winter Park Resort Snow Report for the Week of January 29.
We’ve started to see more consistent snowfall for the season and, *knock on wood* it appears that pattern will continue into this week. After some fresh snow yesterday morning, we racked up over 15 inches this last week. With the most recent storms having a North-West Flow, we have lucked out due to orographic weather effects.
Snow has stayed cold, so there are leftover cold powder stashes and nice cold, soft conditions mountain-wide. Monday and Tuesday offer some days of sunshine, to catch some of the weekend’s snowy leftovers or rip on some groomers! Wednesday’s storm is expected to allow for powder laps and potential terrain openings.
Where to Ride:
The shady cold slopes off of Eskimo are holding up great. Ski Patrol said Balch, Bash, and Little Pierre are skiing well. You Jane riders may just convert to Parkside after getting a taste of what’s out there. If you’re sticking to the Mary Jane side, swing by Parsenn Bowl for leftover powder stashes in the trees and nice wind-buffing above the tree line.
Looking for a good groomer? Look for Tuesday night groom on Derailer and more grooming moving forward on Bash, Mulligan’s Mile, Over N’ Underwood and Engledive.
Patrol has been exploring in Belle Fourche, and are working the Cirque regularly with explosives and ski-packings every morning trying to get it open ASAP. It is getting closer and with more snow later this week may get us there. Stay tuned!
