Welcome to April! It’s no April Fool’s joke that we started the month with 5 inches of fresh powder. Not to mention an event-packed Easter Celebration, picturesque views from the mountain, and the promise of more to come.
4 powder days brought 13.5 inches in total over the last seven days. So if we’re talking about conditions, we can say that they’re pretty darn great. If you were looking to sink your skis into something deep, April is giving you the chance to do so.
Looking out this week, you can catch great snow this weekend after some light storms come through on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Or you can catch rays today and tomorrow while it’s sunny out.
Where to Ride:
Where’s the powder skiing at? Patrol knows where it’s at! After our convo with them, they’re bragging about the goods in Vasquez Ridge and the Cirque. If you’re cruising around VR, make sure to take a few laps down Sundance and Stagecoach, and if you’re taking on the Cirque, South Headwall and B Chute have lasting stashes of cold snow. Those northern and eastern facing runs benefit from less sun and are holding the fresh snow really well.
Spring is also the perfect time for taking on the Terrain Park Territory. The soft snow offers friendly landings, and sunny days make for great visibility. Build your skills on the progression line on Ash Cat, or be part of the scene at Re-Railer, Railyard, or the Halfpipe.
BIG! BIG! BIIIIIG! The quick and easy version of this weekend’s event. The BigWonderful comes to the high altitude of Winter Park Resort on Saturday, April 7. Plus, they’re bringing along Denver’s famous Trout Steak Revival to headline. Not to mention a plethora of good-drinkin’ local beers and a bazaar of state-wide craft vendors.
