You’ll probably notice something a little different at Winter Park this summer. It’s going to be under construction, and we are stoked for the upcoming projects!
The Zephyr construction is underway! We are making room for the 10-person Gondola set to start spinning next ski season. This past Friday, the haul rope removal began, and we snapped some photos over the weekend as work crews continued their work, getting us one step closer to faster uphill access. Trestle fans, no worries, we will have Gemini and Eskimo running this summer 7 days a week to get you to access to the top of the mountain. Plus, we’ll have extended evenings on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, to help you get more laps in! Then, after July 1, Olympia will also spin 7 days a week. Check out Plus Size BMX’s article on this summer’s impact, too.
In conjunction with the Winter Park Village Company Master Association, the heart of the Village, the area just outside the Private Lesson Center/Weddings Center building, is getting a revamp. Construction began late-April with anticipated completion in early November. This project will redesign that section of the Village so as to better serve our guests by offering a lively community hub, expanded event space, and increase ease of mobility during our winter season with heated pavers throughout the Village.
Throughout this construction project, we will have the vast majority of the Village shops and restaurants in operation. Some of the businesses will be relocated, including Trestle Bike Park Shop, Summer Activities Ticket Office, and the Bike Park School Meet-Up Location, which can all be found at the north end of the base area. Bike Source will be located just across from Starbucks this summer, and Doc’s Roadhouse will be open for special events only, but Derailer will offer a full menu, 7 days a week.
Check back next month for more updates!
