Opening day is here and Winter Park is buzzing with summer excitement again!
We’re up and running with our usual programming, and a few new additions! We do have construction planned to continue throughout the season, but expect limited impacts on summer fun.
Timberrrrrr… The Zephyr Express chairlift towers were brought down at the end of May. In preparation for the new gondola, our crews are continuing to survey placement for the new towers, grade, blast, and focus on erosion control. Bikers can keep rippin’ laps with greater uphill bike capacity than years past, thanks to the addition of more bike carriers on the Gemini and Eskimo Lifts. Take these lifts to the top and enjoy great early season trail conditions.
The Village will have through-access from end to end for pedestrian use with access to all shops. Bikes may travel from end to end via Winter Park Drive, which offers the added benefit of cruising through on bikes instead of having to dismount and walk.
In-ground snowmelt installation has begun, which will supply heat to the new pavers throughout the plaza. Paver installation will begin within the next few weeks.
Trestle and summer activity tickets, rentals, lessons, and retail have moved to West Portal Station for the duration of this summer.
Snowmaking installation teams are working diligently to get new pipe in the ground. Piping affecting Trestle Bike Park trails has been a priority. Continued updates will be provided for any temporary trail closures, but the season kicked off with an unbelievable opening of 85% of our terrain!
The base area at Winter Park Resort will be open all summer long. You’ll find the usual summer activities (the alpine slide, climbing wall, putting course, and more), plus the Shed Adventure Concierge, opening in July. The Shed is a new resource for planning any adventure, customized to your interests. Find the perfect hike, bike or sightseeing plan for your stay, free of charge.
