A healthy balance of snow and sunshine means vibes are good at Winter Park. We’ve received over a foot and a half of recent snow intermingled with abundant bluebird skies. More snow is on the way beginning Thursday evening and continuing in waves throughout the coming week.
Steady snowfall has been the theme of the week. The mountain received a total of 13 inches throughout the last seven days and, thanks to a series of small-scale storm systems, conditions have been both soft and consistent. With plenty of sunshine between the snowy days, skiing and riding have been fantastic, with picturesque views as an added bonus. The snowpack is 120% of the year-to-date average. The outlook for this weekend is equally as positive because three more waves of snow are lining up and ready to deliver the goods. Expect flakes to begin falling this evening and snow totals of up to 6 inches by Saturday. The main course begins anew on Sunday with an even stronger storm set to arrive. Don’t be surprised if we see an additional 11 inches by Wednesday!
Ski and Ride
With over 90% of the mountain open for the season, skiers and riders of all abilities and styles can find plentiful terrain on which to play or push their limits. If you want great views and even better turns, check out Parsenn Bowl and take laps down Forget-Me-Not and Larkspur. For those who prefer powder and tree skiing, you’ll find what you’re looking for in the Eagle Wind territory. Make sure to take laps on Thunderbird and don’t be afraid to explore in order to find the best powder stashes.
